The NUTSÓLA Story:
A Father & Son Company

The idea began in our home kitchen—never as a business, just a way to eat better as a family. But as we looked around, we saw a serious lack of transparency in the food industry. So we set out to change that—driven by our passion to help people live a healthier lifestyle through clean eating, without added sugars and with complete transparency.

2012: The Recipe is Born

It All Starts in the Kitchen

In our family kitchen, my dad Michael came up with an incredible creation. He mixed dates, nuts, seeds, and spices into a snack that was simple, delicious, and better than most of what we saw on shelves. We were inspired by Grandpa Milton’s love of baking and Aunt Joyce, who first pointed out that too much dried fruit can sneak in more sugar than you realize. What started as a way to fuel our busy, health-focused lifestyle became something more. That’s when the very first version of NUTSÓLA was born.

2017 – The Business Begins

A Father & Son Pact

One day, my dad said, “Let’s go into business together.” We didn’t have a plan— just a recipe we believed in and a shared vision. That moment marked the beginning of a father-and-son journey built on passion, purpose, and the dream of creating something truly meaningful.

2019 – Kickstarter & Farmers Markets

Launched into the World

We brought our idea to Kickstarter, hit our goal by Day 2, and never looked back. With encouragement from our community, we hit the road setting up shop at farmers markets across New Jersey, New York, and Florida. That’s where we first connected with real customers and saw how our product fit into their lives.

2020 – Retail breakthrough

Our first shot

We always knew our journey would be from farmers markets to retail in the beginning. Our first retailer to give us an opportunity was Erehwhon Market in CA. In early 2020 I spent weeks there sampling can getting people to try. Sales were doing great, largley because I was there but weeks later our strategy would flip upside down.

2020-2021 – Pivot & Innovation

Pandemic Pivots

When COVID hit, demos and markets stopped—but not our drive. We shifted gears and focused on product innovation and reimagining how to bring clean, convenient snacks to more people. It was a reset that pushed us to think bigger and move faster behind the scenes. Even during this time reached a major milestone—landing on HSN, Walmart, and more. What started in our kitchen had officially made it to homes across the country.

2022 – The Chocolate Idea

New Cravings Spark
New Creations

After years of clean snacking, we found ourselves craving chocolate—but not the kind full of added sugar. So we asked ourselves: What if we made the cleanest chocolate bar possible? That spark became the seed for our next big idea.

2023 – Chocolate Launch

Sweetened by Nature

We launched DÄT Chocolate—a bar made with real ingredients, sweetened only with dates. No preservatives, no additives, no added sugar. Just chocolate, the way it should be.

2024 – Lifestyle Brand Evolution

More Than a Snack

As we grew, NUTSÓLA became more than just a snack company. We evolved into a lifestyle brand and focused on direct-to-consumer, streamlined our products, and built a brand centered on clean eating and simple ingredients, empowering people to eat better and feel better, one bite at a time.

2025 – Innovation Unleashed

A Full Pantry of Possibilities

Today, we’re more than a mix. We expanded our lineup—from superfood snacks to chocolate bars to clean protein. All with the same goal: Clean-ingredient, no-added-sugar products, helping you thrive.

The Journey Continues…

We’re just getting started! Thank you for being part of the NUTSÓLA story—and for sharing in our mission to make clean eating something you crave, and helping you feel your best.

To good health and happiness,
Adam and Michael Kukoff

All of this not possible without our Inspiration

Grandpa Milton “Max” Kukoff

Grandpa Milton has always been our greatest inspiration. He loved to bake cookies, mandel bread, and apple cake. Sometimes it seemed like the house was turned into a small bakery! Before leaving the house daily, he would give some baked goods to the people that worked in the community. He said many of them don’t have easy lives and maybe this would be a way to sweeten their day.The lessons we learned from him and how he cared for others inspired us to partner with Feed the Hungry and pledged to donate a bar for every purchase.Because of Grandpa Milton, we learned the importance of giving back and hope NUTSÓLA can be a way of sweetening your day too.
